Winter is upon us and with that comes cold weather, less day light and a whole lot of overcast weather. With the winter season, we can experience a mean case of the winter “Blahs” where we just feel “off”. Some of us experience a dip in mood and energy, feeling apathetic at best, and worse yet, some of us might even battle some seasonal depression and anxiety. The good news is that we can fight the “blahs” head on with, of course, Acupuncture, good nutrition including whole food sources and supplementation of vitamin D, fun social activities that we can look forward to and physical activity, preferably outside! Being outside, even in the bitter cold, is so important for us. It helps our bodies acclimate to the cold weather and (did you know?…) we can actually make vitamin D through our eyes! So, make sure you are actually getting some sunlight everyday on your eyes, not through a window and not through sunglasses for best results!
