My work here is done…well not quite, maybe it’s just starting!
Acupuncturists in the U.S. traditionally practice with a Masters degree in either Traditional Chinese Medicine or acupuncture but professional doctorate programs are now increasingly available. In an effort to better serve my patients and my community I made a commitment early this year to go back to school to receive a Doctor of Acupuncture degree! With my Masters degree I was 22 credits away from my Doctorate in acupuncture, so, I took on a full time class schedule over 2 terms at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and got to work while YOU remained patient and supportive through my limited clinic hours and changing schedules!
I was lucky enough to be taught by some of the most respected acupuncturists in the US as well as wonderful Western medical doctors. As if that wasn’t enough, I had classes with fellow students who are the current leaders in the profession, who have written the textbooks I have learned from, who are active in legislature that effects the profession, who speak at the seminars I attend, and who have a collective invaluable experience in the field. (I was humbled and star-struck to say the least and had never “nerded out” about acupuncture so much!) The opportunity and honor to learn from everyone was fantastic and learn I did!
I am happy to say as of December 17th, 2017, I finished the program and received my degree. I am elated to bring my newfound knowledge to the clinic to make sure you get the best possible care (as well as an expanded, uninterrupted schedule). Acupuncture is a beautiful medicine that I have always been excited to share with the world, and as my knowledge continues to grow, acupuncture never ceases to amaze me! I am so GRATEFUL that my growth and knowledge continue in this wonderful profession.
Thank you, for your continued support and patronage. I look forward to seeing you in the new year and hope that I might support you on your own journey of growth and development, as you have with mine.
